Non-injury vehicle crash reported near Sophia and Division, traffic blocked
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 01/10/2020 - 5:16pmA vehicle crash involving two white pickups was reported at 4:14 p.m. Saturday afternoon near Sophia and Division.
The reporting party indicated there were no injuries, but the vehicles were blocking traffic.
Motorists should seek alternate routes until the street can be cleared.
Famed country rock band at Silver City, early Carson City history, live comedy and more this weekend

Events include the Nevada Artists Association New Year’s Show, and there’s a historical Curry family presentation at the Nevada State Museum. Famed country rock band I See Hawks in L.A. perform at the Historic Silver City Schoolhouse on Saturday. Combined with live music at Bella Vita Bistro, there’s plenty to do and see around the state capitol. Read on for more.
Carson City's Bleu Cafe reopens restaurant, bar for lunch following public outcry
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Tue, 01/07/2020 - 12:33pmCarson City's Bleu Cafe closed their restaurant doors in November to focus on catering and parties, but after months of public outcry from Bleu Cafe enthusiasts, Chef Roberta Davies has opened the restaurant and bar for lunch, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The restaurant is popular for their menu that touts cooking "the old fashioned way," with every item made from scratch using real ingredients. When it closed, the public let Davies know just how upset they were.
Suspect wanted in Carson City, Reno burglaries captured after fleeing stolen pickup
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Tue, 01/07/2020 - 9:51amA 37-year-old man who was a suspect in numerous business thefts in Carson City and Reno was taken into custody Monday following a vehicle pursuit and foot chase that led officers to his capture and a stolen truck used in the suspected burglaries, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office report.

Carson City man jailed for driving with suspended registration, refusing to pull over

Lompa Lane for misdemeanor driving with suspended registration, no proof of insurance, department of alternative sentencing violation of suspended sentence and violation of bail conditions after refusing to stop when deputies attempted to pull him over.

Carson City Elks and Emblem clubs celebrate Christmas with holiday children's party

Santa was there to take pictures with the children and pass out stockings with toys and candy inside of them. Mrs. Claus passed out candy canes.
Carson City community donates 159 winter coats for kids as part of Carson Nugget fundraiser

Weather wise we're looking at some valley snow showers into the afternoon and evening. Activities include a spirited discussion by local historian CW Bayer about the origins of Reno's tawdry reputation, plus Carson Cigar Company will hold its annual Ugly Sweater Christmas Party. Carson City’s first 'Unsilent Night' happens Sunday at BAC as part of worldwide music event

An original composition by Phil Kline, "Unsilent Night" was written specifically to be heard outdoors in the month of December. It takes the form of a street promenade in which the audience becomes the performer.
Food for Thought closes out coat drive with 130 coats collected for Carson City kids in transition

Carson City deputies arrest woman for second domestic battery

According to the report, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Wednesday on a report of a domestic battery. Upon arrival they spoke with the reporting party who said the woman is the mother of their child, who had arrived at the home uninvited.

The Vegas Golden Knights offered the equipment and materials during the hockey clinics.
