A 41-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested Friday, 11:12 p.m. in the area of East William Street and Rand Avenue for a felony warrant alleging violation of bail conditions, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

A 24-year-old homeless man was arrested Tuesday in the Brunswick Canyon area for possession of drug paraphernalia and being in violation of alternative sentencing conditions.

A 34-year-old Dayton man was booked Tuesday at Carson City Jail for a felony burglary warrant issued the same day, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Reward Offered: Eight mule deer killed and left to waste in southern Nevada

Game wardens are actively searching for information after it was discovered that eight mule deer were killed and left to waste over the course of three weeks in September in hunt unit 262 near Mount Charleston in southern Nevada.

The Nevada Department of Wildlife and Operation Game Thief are offering a $3,000 reward to help catch the person or persons responsible.

Here is the Carson City area road report for the week of Oct. 24-30, 2016. This is the final week of work on the Downtown Corridor Improvement Project along Carson Street. The following streets will be impacted:

— Carson Street will be one lane in each direction with lane shifts through the week during daytime hours.

— Sunday night through Wednesday night starting at 8 p.m., there will be lane shifts for final striping.

— At this time, all side streets should be open.

— Carson Street will be closed between Musser and Fifth on Monday only.
— Fifth Street is open to east and westbound traffic, Musser Street is open to east and westbound traffic.
— Robinson will be closed at Carson Street, both east and west side for the week, Monday through Friday.

A really big deer spotted roaming in Carson City

Here's a photo of a 21 point mule deer spotted in downtown Carson City on Saturday. Ten points on the left and 11 on the right. Biggest deer I've seen since I've lived in Carson City.
I was really shocked to have seen such a big deer, but it was so beautiful and majestic I had to share.

Carson City Parks & Recreation Easy Walk to Ambrose Carson River Nature Area

Meet in the parking area about 1/3 mile south of East Highway 50 on Deer Run Road. This one will be level but on uneven ground. Closed toed shoes required and water. Hat and sunscreen recommended if hot and sunny.

Walks of 1 to 2 miles in length with none or negligible elevation gain, and frequently on paved or smooth paths. The walks will usually be of approximately 1 hours in duration.
