Motorists, too, yielded to the four-legged pedestrians.

There isn’t really anything to be wary of today, so head out with abandon. Band students from all the Carson City schools, elementary on up, will get together this evening for a grand performance. Band-o-Rama will take place in the ‘big’ gymnasium at Carson High; get there early if you want a good seat. Learn more about the Court Appointed Special Advocates at their informational meeting; more volunteers are always appreciated.
Downed line, power outage reported in East Carson City

Ultimately, a bichon frise named Flynn was picked “best in show.”

Alpine County rivers and streams have also officially closed for the season. With the exception of the East Carson River that flows form Hangman's Bridge to the Nevada state line, this section is open all year with special regulations.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Thursday afternoon to a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup in the area of Highway 50 East and Deer Run Road. The driver of the pickup took off running southbound on Deer Run Road.

Nov. 15 is the final day to fish rivers and streams in Alpine County and much of the Sierra. Lake fishing, however, will remain open through the winter season for some but not all Sierra lakes. In a later article, we will discuss the joys of ice fishing.
