Nevada division for aging, disabled receives nearly $7 million in CARES funding
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 04/26/2020 - 9:37amCARSON CITY — The Aging and Disability Services Division was recently awarded $6,929,262 in grants from the Administration for Community Living as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The funds will help meet the needs of older adults and people with disabilities as communities implement measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Firefighting sheep invade Lakeview, almost make it onto freeway in Carson City

According to resident Wade Olds, the neighbors believed the shepherd had fallen asleep and his flock ran away, something straight out of a nursery rhyme.

I should have left my malodorous garments outside rather than carrying that pungent scent into the house. Oh well, I don’t care. I’m happy because I’m pruning. It takes so little to put a smile on my face.

So when Parent called Dixon to ask him to come look for a particular deer in Carson City last weekend, Dixon was more than happy to drive down.
However, this was no ordinary deer hunt, but instead, a deer rescue.

One person died. One suffered minor injuries. The name of the person who died has not been released. The cause of the crash is under investigation, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Two vehicles were reported to be involved, with one injury as of 2:21 p.m.
