Arrested were Cody Robert Hume, 25, and Amanda Kay Miles, both of Winnemucca and Cullen James Hume, 21, listed as a transient.

According to the arrest report, Carson City SET was advised of a situation at the parole and probation office on Long Street. Investigators learned the three arrived at the office in a white Dodge van to have Cullen James Hume — who is on state parole supervision — checked in with his parole officer.

Cullen Hume and Cody Hume are brothers. Cody Hume is on state probation supervision. Amanda Miles is the girlfriend of Cody Hume. When a parole and probation officer asked Miles if there was anything illegal in the vehicle they arrived in, Miles stated there was illegal drugs in the vehicle, the arrest report states.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the store in the 500 block of East William Street for a report of a man who lunged at people. Deputies arrived and learned the subject had left, walking east toward Roop Street. Officers located the man and detained him for questioning.

An officer advised Simpson of the stop, which the man said the store had accused him of stealing. He was asked if he had lunged at anyone at the store and the man replied no, the arrest report states.

Deputies spoke with an employee about the incident and asked what was meant by the man having "lunged" at them. The officer asked him if he needed medical attention. The man declined. The officer asked if he had been drinking. The man said a little bit, the report states. The man agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. He provided a preliminary breath test with a result of .181. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI and hit and run.
