Carson City Aquatic Facility to host Grand Reopening after updates this Saturday

The Carson City Aquatic Facility has been closed to the public for about six weeks while updates and renovations took place. The pool was re-opened without much fanfare Tuesday with a grand reopening and free community swim set for Saturday to celebrate the completion, including a dive in family-friendly movie.

Carson City Aquatic Facility to reopen to public Jan. 22

The Carson City Aquatic Facility will reopen to the public on Jan. 22, 2019. The facility was originally scheduled to open on Jan. 2, however due to delays and additional curing time needed for the pool plaster, that date needed to be postponed to Jan. 22.

CARSON CITY — The Carson Aquatic Facility will be closed from Nov. 3 to Jan. 2 for infrastructure enhancements. An approximately $550,000 investment into the facility’s infrastructure will be made during the two month closure.

Carson City Aquatic Center to close its therapy pool in October for repairs

The Carson City Aquatic Center will be completing some needed maintenance on the roof of the facility. The floods earlier this year caused some leaks in various locations of the facility and the Parks and Recreation Department is working on getting the repairs completed before another winter season.

The Carson Aquatic Center welcomes everyone to a ‘Dive-in Movie’ on their new LED screen: Finding Nemo is a perfect flick for the whole family. Funnyman Adam Stone headlines this week’s Carson Comedy inside the Carson Nugget for those needing a good laugh. The Carson Area Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America will gather to honor those who have given their all and have yet to come home during a POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial on the Capitol Grounds.

BOO-NANAZA 2017

Carson City Library, Carson City Parks and Recreation Department, and Southwest Gas are teaming up to host a BOO-NANZA with trick or treating, STEAM activities, a costume contest, spooky decorations, and a movie!

This event will be held on Wednesday, October 25 from 4-6 PM at the Community Center, Library, and Aquatic Facility. BOO-NANZA is a free, safe, and spooky environment for children to participate in Halloween fun. The first 100 participants will receive a bag to use for trick or treating.

A problem with a boiler that began two days ago has left the Carson City Aquatic Facility without hot water for showers.

10 CHS swimmers qualify for state during regional swimming championships

The Northern Nevada Regional Swimming Championships were held at the Carson Aquatic Facility in Carson City, Friday, May 12 and Saturday, May 13. Carson Swim Team had a strong showing with 10 team members qualifying to the 2017 NIAA Nevada State High School Swimming Championships which will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Carson Aquatic Facility, Carson City.

The Northern Region Swimming Trials and Finals will be held Friday and Saturday, May 12-13, 2017 at the Carson City Aquatic Facility. The competition begins at 1:00 pm on Friday and 10 a.m.

Carson High Swim Team earn victories over McQueen and Hug

Carson High Swim Team was victorious in both the men's and women's events against McQueen High and Hug High on Friday, April 21 at the Carson City Aquatic Facility.
