I am not even going to attempt guessing what weather we have in store. The west side of the Sierras are notoriously unpredictable. You are much better off betting on the Kentucky Derby; and the Firkin and Fox is just the place to cheer on your favorite horse.

May the Fourth be with you, Carson City. Today is Star Wars day, among other things. It’s also Whiskey Wednesday at the Firkin and Fox, karaoke night at Crossroads, and Line Dance Day at Carson Lane. For the Star Wars Aficionados, then you’ll want to head to the Carson Library or to Downtown Minden for light sabers and costume parties. Art lovers will find a new exhibit to celebrate at Comma Coffee. Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint has the Junebugs performing tonight; this is the fun you’re looking for.

Feed your soul and your belly with music and great food at Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint or Living the Good Life. Sing your heart out with J and M Productions at Crossroads Lounge’s karaoke night. Let some classic cinema into your life with a big screen viewing of ‘On the Waterfront’ at the Galaxy Theater.

Into every life a little rain must fall, and we just got plenty. The tulips and lilac blooming around town will be pleased. Unfortunately, it could make for soggy feet if you’ve got any outdoor activities planned. Lucky for us, plenty of fun can be found indoors. Hit the Carson Mall for Cowgirls and Lipstick or learn about rare coins at the Nevada State Museum. Meet author Joe Crowley at Browsers' Corner Book Store or read to therapy dogs at the Carson City Library. All day long, a fundraiser for Maya Morrison is happening at Firkin and Fox, but head over between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to take advantage of their very first Whiskey Wednesday.

This beautiful weather is no April Fool’s joke, so get out and enjoy the sunshine. Ascent Runs begins their half marathon series today with a race through Carson Canyons, and it is sure to get your heart pumping. The Downtown Business Association wants to see you at today’s wine walk. Once you’re around Telegraph Street, you’ll see some throwbacks from a by-gone era courtesy of Naughty Tea Mistresses, the First Nevada Cavalry, and more.

Slow down, you move too fast. You’ve got to make the moment last. Today is Nevada Moves Day as part of Nevada Moves week. Be aware of the kids making their way to school, whether it be on foot, by bike, scooter, or skateboard. A walk along the Wellness Trail is a good way to break up the work week. Crossroads Lounge on Winne Lane is under new ownership and has just brought karaoke favorites ‘J and M Productions’ onboard Wednesday nights.
