It almost seems like the weekend is starting early, with all the great times offered today. The Carson City Fair is in full swing and will offer family-friendly fun through Sunday. Movie-lovers of all ages will enjoy tonight’s Movie on the Plaza: Princess Bride. It’s free to attend, but you’ll want to bring your own seating. Learn more about what lurks in the deep during tonight’s lecture at the Nevada State Museum; Dr. Zeb Hogan will be discussing ‘Monster Fish.’ Café at Adele’s brings local jazz favorites, First Take, to town for their ‘Music on the Veranda’ series; wine, dine, and enjoy the beautiful summer night.

• — Muscle Powered Thursday Hike: Tahoe Rim Trail, Spooner Summit North - Meet in the Hwy 50 Park n Ride to carpool to the trailhead (8am-9:30am - In case of bad winter weather, we will cancel; friendly, leashed dogs welcome; These hikes are 2-4 miles with an approximate duration of 1½ hours, sometimes with elevation gains of 500’ or more. Hike duration does not include travel time if we carpool to the trailhead; Water and closed-toe shoes are required.
