Help Wounded Warrior project at Capital Ford today from 1-3 p.m.

A very special 2019 Ford Raptor is visiting Capital Ford from 1-3 p.m. today to raise money for the Wounded Warriors Family Support project. Those who want to participate can come by and sign the truck for a donation to the cause. This is the eighth year Capital Ford has hosted the event.

Carson Valley Senior Living donates $3,750 to local veterans’ group

Carson Valley Senior Living and Memory Care donates $3,750

Carson Valley Senior Living and Memory Care donated 50 percent of the community’s total move-in fees from November and December 2018 to the Wounded Warrior Project. The amount totaled $3,750.

The Wounded Warrior Project is a charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, services and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following September 11, 2001.

RSVP accepting donations for ‘Christmas Packages to our Troops’ care packages

RSVP will be taking donations for the “Christmas Packages to Our Troops” until 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2018. Donations can be delivered to 2621 Northgate Ln Suite 6, Carson City.

Nevada Governor Sandoval orders flags to half-staff for 911 observance; ceremony Sunday in Carson City

Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval signed Executive Order 2016-28 that orders all flags to fly at half-staff on Sunday, September 11 from sunrise to sunset in recognition of Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance for those victims of the terrorists attacks 15 years ago.

  • One Putt Jr. Academy at Silver Oak Golf Course (7:45am sign in, 8am-10am; $40 per class or $200 for six classes: includes Green Fees, Pull Cart, Golf Clubs, Gatorade; space limited, check availability; ages 7-12)

This is my annual reminder of my all-time favorite fund raiser. The highly-popular and fun-filled Carson Valley Chukar Club fundraiser will be held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds on Saturday, March 7. This year’s fund raiser will be its 29th version.

Cause Warrior Ride Passes Through Dayton, Northern Nevada

In early morning fog on Sunday, July 20, 2014, a team of six riders began a 70-day long journey across the U.S. to bring awareness and support to today’s wounded warriors and their families. The 2014 Cause Warrior Ride Team will stop in over 70 cities and towns along the route to historic West Point in New York. They arrived in Dayton, NV on Friday, July 25, departing the following morning.

State Treasurer Announces Expansion Of College Savings Plan For Military Families

CARSON CITY – State Treasurer Kate Marshall today announced that her office has joined with USAA to expand the ability of Nevada military families to save for college through the USAA 529 College Savings Plan.
