Cause Warrior Ride Passes Through Dayton, Northern Nevada
In early morning fog on Sunday, July 20, 2014, a team of six riders began a 70-day long journey across the U.S. to bring awareness and support to today’s wounded warriors and their families. The 2014 Cause Warrior Ride Team will stop in over 70 cities and towns along the route to historic West Point in New York. They arrived in Dayton, NV on Friday, July 25, departing the following morning.
For the 2014 Warrior Ride, Cause is partnering with the West Point Class of 1969, who initially planned a cross-country trip as part of their 45th class reunion events. The Class decided to work with Cause so that all proceeds from the event go directly to support Cause programs.
Cause operates programs in eleven facilities in the U.S. and one in Germany. Services range from free massage/Reiki/reflexology treatments and electronic game carts, to digital libraries and special events.
Cause President, retired Army Lieutenant General John Caldwell, addressed the crowd that gathered for the sendoff event with a heartfelt reminder of the ride’s purpose. “This generation of warriors will need our ongoing support and commitment as they transition and reintegrate after active service,” he said.
