CASI's Bark, Wine and Dine: Another big thank you to Carson City

On July 9, Carson Animal Services Initiative, also known as CASI, had the pleasure of hosting our annual Bark, Whine and Dine fundraiser at Fuji Park, and because of our incredible community, it was once again a huge success.

Compared to the last few weekends, Carson City is downright sleepy. That just makes it much easier to get around town and explore. Head to Mills Park for the First Annual Polynesian Festival in the Marv Teixeira Pavillion. Glen Eagles welcomes back the Regional Chili Cook-off this weekend; get your fill of some amazing grub and help raise funds for Honor Flight Nevada. Annual CASI Bark, Whine and Dine event set for July 9

CASI will be holding their annual Bark, Whine and Dine event on July 9th starting at 5:30 PM at Fuji Park. Dinner will be provided by the award winning Carson City BBQ.

There will be silent auction items galore. Join CASI for a fun filled night as they raise money to help build a play yard for the new animal shelter. Tickets are on sale now for $30.

I Love Carson City’s Weekend Event Summary: August 29-30

This last weekend of August is filled with ways to celebrate your community. Carson Animal Shelter Initiative, better known as CASI, hosts their annual Bark, Whine, and Dine Fundraiser at Fuji Park. Animal lovers can also head to Carson Catalina Apartments for a rummage sale that benefits the Carson Tahoe SPCA. The Carson City Sheriff's Office young Explorers will host a fundraising car wash; The Marine Corp League can be found at the north Carson Walmart; half of the donations received will go to Deputy Howell’s family fund. And don’t miss out on the drought-friendly water balloon ice bucket challenge raising funds for ALS at Butler Meats on Sunday.

  • Car Wash fundraiser for Carson City Sheriff’s Office Explorers at Unique Sounds: 3080 Hwy 50 East (10am-2pm)
  • Virginia City Ferrari Hill Climb
  • Back to School at Carson Hot Springs (Free 17 and younger admission per paid adult; outdoor pools only; 7am-10pm)
  • Rummage Sale fundraiser for Carson Tahoe SPCA at Carson Catalina Apartments: 700 Hot Springs Rd. (7am-ish until?)
  • Annual Outreach and Fundraiser by the Marine Corps League of Carson City Silver State- Detachment 630 at the Walmart store on Retail Drive (8am-5pm; half of the donations go to the family of fallen Carson City Sheriff’s Office Deputy and former U.S. Marine Carl Howell)

Tuesday, August 18: Things to do in Carson City

Motown and art hit the stage today at the Community Center as part of the ongoing Jazz and Beyond festival. Well, the CCAI art show and sale opens at 5 p.m. in the theater lobby. The Carson Animal Shelter Initiative has a meeting this evening, and there is sure to be a lot to cover. Their major fundraiser, ‘Bark, Whine, and Dine,’ hits Fuji Park on August 29.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the CASI 5K9 and the CASI Pooch Plunge to support our efforts to help Carson City build the new animal shelter. Smiles were everywhere as the tails wagged behind running and swimming dogs! The people in our community continue to be incredibly supportive of CASI’s mission to help homeless, abandoned and lost animals have the best chance possible at being adopted or reunited with families that love them. Governor puts his signature on CASI fundraising silent auction donation

Two Carson City residents working on a project for the 7th annual CASI Bark, Whine and Dine set for Sunday, July 27 at Fuji Park have gotten a rare gift donation from the Nevada Governor's Office.

Volunteers Adrianne S. Harris and George M. Allen asked Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval if he could provide a signed autograph on something that can be sold at the silent auction. The governor agreed and his secretary presented the volunteers a limited edition 12-inch by 14-inch print by Reno artist Roy Powers. The print is of the Governor's mansion.

Parks4Paws Bark Whine and Dine

Parks 4 Paws presents its 3rd Annual Bark Whine and Dine fun raiser event, Hosted by Mayor Bob Crowell. Featured events include food from Local's BBQ, microbrews, raffles, a silent auction and music by CHS Link Crew. Cost is $25 per person. Tickets may be purchased at parks4paws.com or by calling Ilona at 721-4931.
