Matinée performance of 'Oklahoma!' by Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company

"'Oklahoma!" is the Rogers & Hammerstein classic that changed the face of American musical theater. It will be performed by the Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company under the direction of Stephanie Arrigotti at the Carson City Community Center. There will be two matinée performances beginning at 2 p.m. on May 8 and May 15.

Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company Presents 'Oklahoma!'

"'Oklahoma!" is the Rogers & Hammerstein classic that changed the face of American musical theater. It will be performed by the Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company under the direction of Stephanie Arrigotti at the Carson City Community Center. Show times for the Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. on May 6-7 and May 13-14. There will be two matinée performances beginning at 2 p.m. on May 8 and May 15.

Supervisor candidate forum tonight at Carson City Community Center

A candidates forum, hosted by the Carson City Arts and Culture Coalition, will be held tonight from 7 to 9 p.m., in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center. Carson Now will have live coverage.
The forum is free and open to the public.

Carson City girl shaken by bizarre attack at community center

CARSON CITY — A 14-year-old Carson City girl who was taking a break from "The Sound of Music" rehearsals Thursday night at the Carson City Community Center, said she pushed away a man who "came out of nowhere" and jumped on top of her as stunned friends watched.

"I was kind of freaked out," the 14-year-old victim told Carson Now late Thursday night. "I just held my breath and pushed him off of me."

The unidentified man, who had led authorities on a car chase through town, was detained shortly after the attack by Carson City deputies. The incident began at about 8:30 p.m.

The hills will come to life in Carson City this May as the Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company brings Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most beloved musical, 'The Sound of Music' to the Carson City Community Center.

The acclaimed musical will play weekends, May 7-16. 
Tickets are available at Realty Executives, 1071 South Carson St. or by phone at (775) 445-4249. There is no service fee for charging by phone. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m., Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. There is also a Saturday matinee on May 15 at 2 p.m.
