Make sure to tell him what you want and grab a free photo at Red’s Old 395. Join Capital City Arts Initiative in the Sierra Room of the Community Center; an artist reception for Claudia Knous begins at 10 a.m. Heads up, you’ll need to park on the east side of the building. Enjoy our award winning high school band, Blue Thunder, as they perform a winter concert in the Bob Boldrick Theater. They will be joined by the school’s orchestra as well.

Lief Larson, Carson City CrossFit First in Northern Nevada to get CrossFit Level 3
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Mon, 12/14/2015 - 5:12pmLast week, Lief Larson was able to accomplish his goal of becoming a CrossFit Level 3 Trainer (CF-L3). After submitting over 1,500 hours of coaching experience and obtaining his CrossFit Level 2 Certificate, CrossFit Headquarters approved Lief to test for his Level 3 Certificate. He is only the fifth individual in Nevada, and the first CrossFit coach in northern Nevada, to be a Certified CrossFit Level 3 (CF-L3) Trainer. His other CrossFit certifications include CrossFit Powerlifting, CrossFit Mobility, and CrossFit Weightlifting.

Local cancer patients share journey through art

This touching collection of over 25 pieces, created by patients, survivors, caregivers and loved ones, represents an inspiring journey of hope through paintings, mixed-media, music, photography, and quilt-work.

Craft fairs at Carson Lanes and the Carson Colony are sure to have something for that hard to buy for person on your list. Fight the chill with chili at the Carson Bulldog Wrestling Club’s Chili Cook-off at Yogurt Beach. Sing some holiday songs at the Holiday Karaoke Sing-along Party at the Carson City Library. Dayton lights up its tree tonight at ‘Our Park,’ so dress in your ugliest sweater and enjoy some hot chocolate and cookies at their ‘Small Town Christmas’ celebration.

At Debug Computers where, in exchange for a donation to Holiday with a Hero, you can get a photo with the man in red. The Santa Train at the Nevada State Railroad Museum is a good place to grab a candy cane, some hot cocoa, and tell him what you’d like to find under the tree. Photographs with Santa are available at the Carson Mall Wednesday through Sunday. Genoa’s annual Breakfast with Santa has three seatings beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The Western Nevada Musical Theater Company has outdone themselves this season, so hurry and get tickets or you may miss out.

Thank you for your service. Several places around town are offering something special for our Veterans today: free coffee, free breakfast, free lunch, etc. You’ll need to bring proof of service. Tonight, everyone is invited to the party. Check out the Junebugs at Living the Good Life. The Portland pop-folk band returns for a night of fun and dancing.
Pets of the Homeless gives back to Carson City

This national organization is dedicated to helping the homeless population provide for their pets through annual food and supply donations. The food drive generated 700 more pounds than last year's donations.

Nevada Day is something special here in the capital city: the parade, beard contest, fam fest, and so much more. Go here for the official Nevada Day website and here for a schedule of events, courtesy of the Carson City Chamber of Commerce. Parade day falls on Oct. 31 this year, and when that happens, trick or treating in Carson City gets bumped up a day to Friday. If you can’t wait that long to wear your costume, head to Carson Lanes for their Halloween Line Dance Party.

Carson Tahoe’s Spooktacular Celebration Features Safe Halloween Fun for Families
