The Brewery Arts Center in Carson City brings a triple-shot of music, food and film as it combines its wheeled food Wednesday event with the Jazz and Beyond festival and an outdoor viewing of the Oscar-winning classic 1960 musical "West Side Story."

Having made it through the first day of school in Carson City, it is onward and upward as we head into Tuesday, August 20, 2019. Events around the area include fitness hikes and bike ride, a free floral design class at Silver City School House, art showings and Congressman Mark Amodei at Casino Fandango. Also featured is the launch of the Jukebox International Film Festival at the community center, a jazz quintet performance at Comma Courtyard and the 115th birthday celebration of Count Basie as part of the Jazz and Beyond music festival. Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region to help the next three days breeze by, including the Jazz and Beyond Music Festival, Carson City Library’s End of Summer Learning Challenge, history talks at Mormon Station Park, train rides in Virginia City, a sushi cooking class at Sierra Chef on Sunday and more!

The Levitt AMP Carson City summer concert series continues this Saturday, July 27 with two headliners sure to light up the night at the Change Company stage, bringing with them all the flavors of pop, funk and plenty of soul.

In this edition of It's Your City, host Cortney Bloomer sits down with Carol Scott of Wild Horse Children's Theater as it prepares to launch production of the Tony Award winning Broadway hit "Newsies" in the Bob Boldrick Theater at the Carson City Community Center.

Ghost is a 8 year old American Pit Bull Terrier with a whole bunch of tricks up his sleeve. He's a very good boy and knows how to sit, lay down, come, shake, and sit up pretty! Pretty impressive, I say.

He's an easy going pup just looking for a new home to perform his tricks.
