TOCCATA–Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus kicks off its 10th Summer MusicFest with “Going For Baroque - Summer Solstice Series” June 17 thru 23. The program opens with Vivaldi’s Concerto for Violin and Cello, RV 547, with Natalie Haines Backman and Nick Haines as soloists, and continues with flutist Josue Casillas performing Vivaldi’s Concerto for Flute #428, “Goldfinch.”

TOCCATA – Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus continues its 10th annual WinterFest with the Paul Guttman Concert Series Feb. 8 – 15 featuring guest violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn. The program includes Gloria from the Mass in B minor featuring the Tahoe Symphony Chorus and vocal soloists. Ms Pitcairn will perform Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major on the legendary Red Mendelssohn Stradivarius violin. Other performances in the series at other venues are on Feb. 8, 11, and 15. TOCCATA – Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus kicks off its 10th annual WinterFest with the “Brrroque Masters” concert series dedicated to the memory of Mark Lord, TOCCATA’s principal trumpet player for the past 9 years.

The program includes Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Trumpets featuring baroque trumpters Dwayne Hollenbach and Wm Van Meter and the Vivaldi Gloria featuring the Tahoe Symphony Chorus and vocal soloists.

The Reno-Tahoe-Truckee community has six opportunities this December to enjoy TOCCATA’s wonderful tradition of producing selections from "Handel's Messiah" in a Holiday Concert, including a performance in Carson City on Tuesday, Dec. 21.
The Carson City performance will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center. The Carson City concert features the 60-voice Carson High School Concert Choir, alumni and Carson soloists, and will be a benefit for the high school choir’s future tour presentations.
