Two decades of searching and planning came to an end Thursday night for Advocates to End Domestic Violence (AEDV), a Carson City-based 501(c)3 registered non-profit whose story goes back nearly 40 years.

Carson City Ward 2 Supervisor Brad Bonkowski will hold “Breakfast with Brad” on Friday, August 4, from 7:00 to 8:00 am at the Cracker Box restaurant. Bonkowski hosts the coffee gatherings as a way to get Carson City residents involved in city issues.

I really hope I’m not required to choose a favorite event. I would be hard pressed to choose between the Nevada Day Parade and the annual Taste of Downtown. Luckily, I can adore them both, and for much the same reason. They are a celebration of community, of Carson City, of our historic downtown and all that it has to offer. In addition to 'The Taste', the Brewery Arts Center goes country with the Southern Drawl Band on its outdoor stage, and Madam Curry leads another downtown Ghost Walk. Advocates to End Domestic Violence honor Taste of DownTown anniversary with ticket offer

This Saturday would have traditionally been the date of the 23rd Taste of DownTown, hosted by Advocates to End Domestic Violence. However, the date has been changed to July 23.

Carson Nugget Casino Hosts Live Entertainment in Outdoor Venue Beginning Saturday

Are you ready for the weekend, Carson City? I know that the Taste of Downtown is hard to beat, but the new Battleborn Brews, Bikes, and Bubbly has thrown its hat in the ring. Live music, vendors, competitions that test motorcycle driving skill and moustache growing ability. The brewfest and tasting is tomorrow night, but the fun will begin today at noon. Shine up your hot rod, the Karson Kruzers’ Run Whatcha Brung Show hits Fuji Park tomorrow, but you can register and show off your ride tonight in the Carson Nugget Parking Lot.

Saturday's event, which brought thousands to the downtown area and had more than 40 restaurants represented in the mix, was the main fundraiser for Advocates to End Domestic Violence. The winners were voted on by ticket holders of the main event.
