Friends to All is dedicated to bringing joy, cheer and friendship to seniors in our community during the holiday season. Since 1999 this group has been working to meet the needs of those with limited financial resources who are home bound or in care centers with little or no family nearby. Each year 150 to 200 visits are averaged in the Carson City area.

With Halloween next Thursday, Silver State retailers who have stocked up on spooky goods say consumers are projected to spend an estimated $139.4 million on ghostly decorations, costumes and sweets to celebrate, according to estimates by the Retail Association of Nevada.

Nevada retailers projected to hire more than 7,000 workers for holiday season

Retailers in Nevada and nationwide have ramped up hiring campaigns in preparation for the 2019 holiday shopping season. In the Silver State, the Retail Association of Nevada estimates retailers will boost hiring by 7,100 new positions during the October-to-December holiday shopping period.

It’s going to get hot again today with a high of 93, but don’t worry, as we get out further into the week the weather will turn more autumnal with highs in the 70s. The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is asking for assistance in identifying suspects involved in vehicle burglaries and subsequent credit card fraud that occurred in Carson City.
