Sierra Nevada Ballet welcomes in the Spring Season with the annual production of Brew, Brats and Ballet-A Celebration of choreography on April 6 (7:30 PM) and April 7 (2:00 PM) at the Reno Little Theater and on April 13 (7:00 PM) at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City.

This year the BBB presentation features six different choreographers with each one presenting a special short work and a short talk before it. The program culminates with a post performance Q and A session between choreographers and audience.

CARSON CITY — The Nevada State Railroad Museum opened its doors to the steampunk craze three years ago and the event has proven to be so popular, this year’s event is branching out with a tip of the hat to Burning Man and into a full-on Arts and Culture Day at the Museum.

The video is a true work of art, featuring talent from the dance students at Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company.

Lake Tahoe writing festival launches playwright competition

Entries are open now for the second annual Lake Tahoe WordWave One-Act Play Competition. “WordWave, A Festival of Story at Lake Tahoe,” will return Oct. 21-23 to the Tallac Historic Site in South Lake Tahoe, Calif. Winners of the play competition receive a $500 cash prize and the chance to see their work directed and produced as a staged reading on the historic Boathouse Theatre stage.
