Have you ever wished you could clone yourself? If you haven’t, then these next few weekends will make you consider it: there are just too many options to choose from. Whether you prefer indoors, outdoors, adults-only, or family friendly, there is something to enjoy. The Stewart Fathers’ Day Pow Wow and the Carson City Off-Road are the big tickets in town this weekend, complete with some downtown road closures. Take a look at the whole list and you’ll find something that suits your mood perfectly, and is possibly just around the corner.

FRIDAY:

Beware, or you'll suffer from fun stuff overload. The State Fair and Rendezvous continues at Mills Park, and now you can head into the Pavilion and get your car or bike registered for the Show and Shine. Shiny cars are also welcome at the Carson Cruise - Meet and Greet's Summer Cruise Night: start out at Bully's Sports Bar and you'll convoy down to McFadden Plaza for the Fridays at the Fox Concert Series Kick-off. Shane Dwight takes the stage to get weekend off to a great start.

Tickets are available for a Aug. 18, 2017 VIP Celebrity Dinner the night before the Aug. 19 Carl Howell Memorial Music Festival in Carson City.

The special VIP evening dinner at Empire Ranch Golf Course, is for people to meet and mingle with the celebrities, athletes and musicians who will be in Carson City to honor fallen Carson City Sheriff’s Deputy Carl Howell, said organizer Don Alexander, who formed the nonprofit The Last Respond Fund, to raise money for the Howell family.

Congratulations on surviving yet another school year, it's officially summer. Celebrate with a family outing to Bower's Mansion and stick around for some live music by Acoustic Solution. Watch out for motorcycles, now that the Spring Rally has rumbled into town, the bikes will be out in full force. Tonight, head over to the Fandango to enjoy the Trey Stone Trio or grab a Hawaiian shirt and join in the Beach Party Karaoke fun at Carson Lanes.

Memorial Day weekend is finally upon us. Unless there is some freak weather phenomenon on its way, it should be gorgeous. See what Tempest the students of Carson High Drama have stirred up as they perform their annual ‘Shakespeare in the Park’ at the Capitol Amphitheater. The GE Family Concert Series in Minden kicks off tonight with Garratt Wilkin and The Parrotheads; you’ll want to bring a jacket, it’s still gets chilly once the sun goes down.

Bike to work week comes to a close, and there is one heck of a party to celebrate. Leave a little extra time this morning to get to work safely, and get some free coffee if you're sporting a helmet. This evening, McFadden Plaza will be filled with riders, games, raffles, and music courtesy of the Whitehats. Stick close to downtown and you'll be rewarded with World Dance at Comma Coffee, or some laughs with Comedian Milt Abel at Carson Comedy inside the Carson Nugget.

FRIDAY: Bike to Work Day/Bike to Work Week

And just like that, the mercury has slid back down the thermometer. You'll want to have a jacket handy for the RSVP Spring Celebration Carnival at Mills Park, but otherwise, most of this evening's fun takes place indoors. Only four shows remain if you'd like to see Western Nevada Musical Theater Company's production of 'Nice Work If You Can Get It.' Brewery Arts Center hosts rising comedian, K-Von, for a night of laughs. Get on the dance floor at Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint. Betty Rocker and Raksha Paksha take the stage at this free show. Get your fill of sunshine today, we’ve got a wet wine walk weekend coming. The stars will be shining bright tonight, though, Western Nevada Musical Theater Company debuts its spring musical ‘Nice Work if You Can Get It’ complete with amazing choreography, melodies, and an exceptional cast. Cinco de Mayo parties all over town offer up food and drink specials, in addition to the fun times that can usually be found on a Friday night. Start the day with a cup of joe or a yummy blended drink at Dutch Brothers Coffee and you’ll be helping find a cure for ALS.

Hang in there, Carson City, spring is coming. If you can make it through today you’ll be rewarded with warming temperatures, with Sunday starting a nice little run in the 70s. Celebrate Arbor Day with a tree planting at Mills Park, and if you’re one of the first fifty arrivals you’ll get your own sapling to plant. Afterwards, take a stroll with the Carson City Historical Society and learn about the history of our big downtown trees. Tonight, Carson Comedy takes over the Carson Nugget and the Brewery Arts Center as Dan Gabriel and Chris Franjola bring the laughs.

Students, K-12 and University, will enjoy the free swim day at the Carson Hot Springs. The Carson Nugget is turning into quite the downtown hotspot with a different headlining comedian each Friday, in addition to live music in two places. The Brewery Arts Center, Carson City’s premiere epicenter for the arts since 1976, presents the eclectic sounds of Marina V and Athena McIntyre.

The week winds to a close, but the events are all gearing up. Today kicks off the three-day High School Rodeo at the Douglas Fairgrounds, and if all goes well, it should remain dry for our local ropers and riders. Kids will want to test their skill at the ‘Pitch, Hit, Run’ Competition at the Boys and Girls Club. Secret Agents are the topic at the monthly Mike Thompson Lecture at the Plaza Hotel if you’re looking for intrigue.

Come learn about culture and diversity in Carson City through, song, dance, and crafts! We will be making Egg Maracas for the kids to take home in this Diversity in Action program.

April showers are bringing some unusual blooms to the Legislative lawn. Join Prevent Child Abuse Nevada and Advocates to End Domestic Violence in the annual planting of the pinwheels. We should have a break from the rain by then, but it’ll still be a windy day. Stick around downtown for a special tour of our historic Capitol with Muscle Powered. It’s Wine Walk weekend, and with the sunny day you have no reason to stay home. The Youth Theater Carson City Showstoppers want to ‘Give Our Regards to Broadway’ during their one weekend only production. Veteran roots music producer, songwriter, and performer Gurf Morlix is touring the country in support of his new release, ‘The Soul and The Heal.’ He plays a CD release show at the Silver City School House in Silver City, Nev., on Thursday, April 13.

They say March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. We’ve survived the freakish lamb-lion hybrid of March and we’ve survived the week, so let’s celebrate. Laugh it up with Kathleen Dunbar or Geechy Guy; Carson Comedy takes over the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall as well as their regular venue inside the Nugget. Spring break week is winding to a close, and it’s ending on a soggy note. More of the wet stuff is on its way, but don’t let that stand in the way of a good time. Their spring production, ‘Bus Stop,’ opens tonight in the Brewery Arts Center Black Box Theater. Our favorite red-headed orphan sings that ‘the sun’ll come out tomorrow.’ Luckily we don’t have to wait: for the sunshine or for the Wild Horse Children’s Theater’s production of Annie, Jr. You’ll find the musical at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall this weekend and next. It’s a great day for the kids with the Kerak Shrine Circus in Reno, cookie decorating at Genoa Candy and Coffee, and a Father-Daughter Dance at Dayton High School. Even if the weather doesn’t agree, there is a spring thaw in our midst. Carson City is picking up the pace, and there’s fun to be had all over. Carson Comedy does a double-dose tonight with Rick D’Elia at the Carson Nugget and Craig ‘The Lovemaster’ Shoemaker at the Brewery Arts Center. World Dance Open Floor at Comma Coffee is like an open mic for dancers. Travel the world with the annual International Film Weekend at the Community Center; it's free and also features local Independent films. Karaoke, live music, dancing and more round out tonight's options.

Holy moly, water everywhere. It’s not a bad idea to stay close to Carson City tonight. There's live music with Brother Dan at Living the Good Life, comedienne Kat Simmons at the Carson Nugget, or the documentary on Bill Cunningham at the Nevada State Museum that may be enough to tempt you out. Please be careful, drive safely, and keep an umbrella handy. Keep your fingers crossed this storm passes quickly – a full moon and lunar eclipse at sunset are visible to those without cloudy skies.

It's the first Friday of February and things are heating up. Not literally, mind you, that silly groundhog predicted more winter is on its way. Plenty of live music tonight will have you moving and grooving: Mo'z Motley Blues at Living the Good Life, Pawnshop at Westside Pour House, and Decoy at the Max Casino to name a few. Several new art exhibits are opening tonight, so make the rounds to the CCAI Courthouse Gallery, the Carson City Visitor Center, and Paradise Salon Spa Wellness if you want to hit them all.

Finally Friday, Carson City. January is coming to a close, and personally, I’m hoping for an early spring. Let’s enjoy the last weekend before February with some live music. Drinking with Clowns hit the Sassafras stage at 8 p.m. – get there early for dinner and a good seat. Comma Coffee can fill you up with coffee, beer, tea, and some soulful songwriting. A to Zen is open to anyone and everyone that wants an audience. Skate to your own tune at the Arlington Square Ice rink: today is the last day to glide and slide.

Three-time GRAMMY award winner and legendary saxophone artist Tom Scott will perform with the 17-piece Reno Jazz Orchestra on Sunday, February 12 at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR).

(I’m not going to lie: triskaidekaphobia is one of my favorite words and I very rarely get the chance to use it in a sentence.) Mother Nature has thrown us for a loop this week, and we deserve the chance to enjoy the break in the storm. Take the family down to the Library for their game corner, or cheer on the talented cast of ‘The Lion King, Jr.’ at the Community Center.
