Two 18 year-olds from Carson City were arrested Saturday morning at 3:27 a.m. in the area of Panamint and Knoblock roads on misdemeanor charges of marijuana possession and alcohol consumption by minors, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is asking for assistance in locating a 16-year-old female runaway.

Carson City Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit asked Facebook followers who or what K-9 Officer Tarzan should be for Halloween this year. Staff tallied up the suggestions and the results are in.

Several residents were concerned Vice President Mike Pence's visit to Carson City on parade day, where he plans to rally support for Senator Dean Heller and Attorney General Adam Laxalt, would disrupt Nevada Day scheduled events, but Sheriff Kenny Furlong said that isn't the case.

Over Nevada Day weekend the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with Partnership Carson City, will be conducting alcohol compliance checks.

UPDATE: The Carson City Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that happened Monday afternoon at Frutilandia yogurt and ice cream shop on Highway 50 East.
