Congressman Mark Amodei (NV-02) today released the following statement after the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced how the first portion of the Provider Relief Fund will be allocated.

The Provider Relief Fund, established under the CARES Act, provides a total of $100 billion in relief funds to hospitals and other healthcare providers on the front lines of the coronavirus response. Our Postal Annex location is providing Free Copying, Scanning, and Faxing of COV ID-19 related Financial Assistance Documents effective immediately. Some governmental agencies still want items faxed and others want them scanned and attachment on an email.

Nevada governor expands state shutdown to include religious gatherings, golf courses

As holy week approaches — Passover Wednesday night and Easter on Sunday — the celebration of those holidays will look different this year.

Gov. Steve Sisolak has already limited public gatherings of 10 or more people, but as the holidays near, his latest emergency directive makes it clear places of worship should not be planning in-person services. Drive-in and pop-up services also are prohibited during the duration of the state’s emergency declaration.

Serenity Mental Health in Carson City is now offering COVID-19 screenings and testing. The Carson City mental health facility has access to more than 400 COVID-19 tests. Any resident in northern Nevada who currently has symptoms and feels they may have contracted coronavirus may apply regardless of insurance.

Error in Carson City COVID-19 test performance leaves local resident in limbo

After spending over a week in horrible pain, a local quad-county resident was finally able to secure a COVID-19 test. However, the situation became all that more complicated when the test was administered incorrectly by Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS).

CCHHS admitted to the error, and has rescheduled a second test to be performed today.
