Dana Andrews stars as Sgt. Tyne, a platoon squad leader who assumes command of his platoon as they trudge through the Italian countryside in search of a bridge they have been ordered to blow up encountering danger and destruction along the way.
General admission $5; Senior/Student $3; Free for members. Doors open at 6:00pm with trivia and discussion at 6:30pm. The film begins at 7:00pm at The Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King Street.

Director John Ford combined action, drama, humor, and a set of well-drawn characters in the story of a group of strangers riding on a stagecoach through dangerous Apache territory.
The film offers plenty of cowboys, Indians, shootouts, and chases, aided by Bert Glennon's majestic photography of Ford's beloved Monument Valley.

The mobile Mammovan aims to make mammography services accessible and convenient for women by visiting locations across Nevada. These screenings are primarily for women age 40 and older; however screenings will be provided to those younger than 40 who have a physician referral.

HELP NOW: Carson City area health professionals sorely needed for weekend clinic
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Fri, 10/16/2015 - 12:13pmA health services clinic through Remote Area Medical is happening now through Sunday in Carson City. Organizers said Friday that there is a shortage of health care professionals, including optometrists and any medical support doctors and nurses.
The clinic is being held at Carson High School. It is designed for children, families and the elderly who are without health care, dental health, and vision eye care. Hundreds are expected to participate during the three day free clinic.

There are no eligibility requirements and identification isn't necessary. Services are provided on a first come basis. The first pop-up clinic will be this weekend in Yerington, Oct. 9-11, and the second will be in Carson City the following weekend, Oct. 16-18.

"We have two huge events coming up, one Friday in the Carson Nugget Hall (Open Hands Night, where you can watch people tell stories and sign songs) from 6-8 and Saturday, our big event, at noon for everyone to come enjoy with free pizza drinks bounce house and face painting," said Thornton. "It all benefits our deaf studies program and helps the deaf community come together."

International film weekend takes root in Carson City; Independent films with local ties to screen free at WNC
Submitted by editor on Fri, 01/16/2015 - 7:27pmWhat began last year with a desire by five local women to bring international films to Carson City will this year be a multi-venue, free three-day event, Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 5-7. Last year’s event was a rousing success, paving the way for this year’s larger festival.
The Carson City Community Center and Western Nevada College will be venues for viewing three foreign feature-length films, three independently produced films, and several Brewery Arts Center contest-winning short films.
