A 37-year-old Las Vegas man was killed in a road racing accident in Storey County on Saturday. 
Alexander Djordjevic died at the scene after he lost control of his Porsche 911 during a sanctioned road racing event north of the Storey and Lyon county lines, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The 5.2-mile stretch of the two-lane highway had been closed to the public for two days between 8 a.m and 5 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday to facilitate a sanctioned road racing event, according to an NHP press statement.

ROSEVILLE, Calif. – The Supermodified Racing Association will participate in a special exhibition this Saturday at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif. The exhibition will be a part of All American’s Open Wheel Challenge, which includes USAC sprint cars headlining a number of other open-wheel divisions.

These days, I get a chuckle when I see people engaging in philosophical debates over health care reform, or "socialized medicine" as opponents call it.

I understand and respect the positions of those who think government should not be a part of the health care system, that the free market will fix everything. It's an interesting philosophical position, but it faces the brick wall of reality.

Unfortunately it is becoming more and more apparent that the countries and environments of the world are much more tightly connected than we’ve been willing to acknowledge.
