Children's Museum of NN and NV Families First presents a Fun Day at the Museum

The Nevada Families First program presents a day of fun at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada. We will start our visit with story time followed by an art activity, then work our way through the museum and play with your child/children. We have reserved an hour and a half for our group connection, but you are welcome to stay longer.

Brewery Arts Center debuts female version of 'The Odd Couple' beginning Friday

Step aside Felix and Oscar, Florence and Olive are in town! The female version of The Odd Couple opens February 14 at the Brewery Arts Center and runs 14-16 and 21-23 with doors opening at 7 pm on Friday and Saturday nights at doors at 1:30 pm on Sundays. Show at 7:30 pm and 2:00 pm.

Lyon County Commissioners approve new Dayton subdivision, reject mobile home workforce housing park

A new subdivision of 96 single family homes was approved by Lyon County Commissioners early this month, which will be built near the Sutro Heights subdivision in Dayton. A proposed Silver Springs mobile home park, which would provide workforce rental housing, was denied.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events around the Carson City region over the next three days. Dozens of sweets are in store for Saturday. The American Association of University Women holds its 20th annual Feast of Chocolate at the Carson Plaza and Event Center. Artsy Fartsy Gallery hosts its 9th annual Jewelry and Chocolate Show with several new decorative pieces. To cap-off Saturday, the legendary Cab Calloway Orchestra makes its way to the capital city.

When half the cast of “Murder on the Oriental Rug” bails out, the remaining performers are stuck playing all the roles. During the first act, you’ll meet a Shakespearean actor with a drinking problem, a washed-up former child star, a bimbo with a short memory, and a hapless costumer who finds herself onstage — playing a man.
