Annual July 5 Tahoe beach cleanup nets 500 pounds of trash, 3,495 cigarette butts, 6,515 pieces of plastic
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Wed, 07/08/2020 - 10:48amDespite COVID-19 keeping many from Tahoe beaches this season, somehow it didn’t seem to stop the trash from accumulating, but it also didn’t stop Keep Tahoe Blue volunteers from holding their annual beach cleanup.
According to the League to Save Lake Tahoe’s Communications Manager Chris Joseph, the beach clean up kept things smaller this year to make sure social distancing practices were upheld for the safety of volunteers.

What happened is that a small group of committed beekeepers decided to approach the city with the idea, and then worked tirelessly for two years with Carson City Board of Supervisors and Mayor Bob Crowell to develop an organization committed to protecting pollinator habitat within the city boundaries.

CHS FBLA students just finished competing in the Nevada State Business Leadership Conference. Originally, the event was scheduled to be held in Reno, but had to be held digitally due to Covid-19.

She thought they were beautiful and, being the aspiring photographer that she is, pulled over and hiked out into the field to get some pictures. These horses are exactly what you think of when you think of Wild West Nevada.

Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 01/05/2020 - 8:58amNot only did the nonprofit organization Fellowship of Christian Athletes open their Christmas tree lot Nov. 24 to raise funds for their organization’s events and outreaches, they also supported other organizations and individuals by giving away 350 Angel Tree Christmas stockings and Christmas trees to Carson City children and families in need, and they also partnered with Sierra Lutheran High School to donate 75 trees to the US Marines at the Warfare Training Center in Coleville, Calif.
Deer hunters save 'King of Carson,' Carson City's famous buck, from tussle with clothesline

So when Parent called Dixon to ask him to come look for a particular deer in Carson City last weekend, Dixon was more than happy to drive down.
However, this was no ordinary deer hunt, but instead, a deer rescue.
