Dayton's Children's Performance Choir to perform at Carson City retirement home

The Children's Performance Choir under the direction of Tim Nolte will be performing their annual Christmas show at the Carson Plaza Retirement Home 2120 E. Long St in Carson City. It will be Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2:30 p.m. and opened to the public as well as the residents at the Plaza.

The choir is from Dayton, Nev. and will be singing 15 numbers which includes new, old, and some songs written just for this occasion with two special guest soloists.

Please come and join the fun and listen to some very fine singers from 2nd grade to 6th grade.

In its sixth year, Carson City has fought hunger during the holidays in a very unique way by serving delicious hot soups prepared by local restaurants that are dished up in ceramic bowls made by the hands of people in the community.

This Friday, the all-you-can-eat fundraiser returns, this time at the Carson Mall, with an array of holiday entertainment, an auction, raffle and more to go along with delicious, savory and soothing hot soup delights.

The event runs from 4 to 8 p.m. inside the Carson Mall's north entrance.

Carson City Symphony chorus begins rehearsals for Holiday Treat Concert

The Carson City Symphony Chorus, a performing group of the Carson City Symphony Association, is beginning rehearsals for the December 9 Holiday Treat Concert. Rehearsals are Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. under the direction of Michael Langham at the Choral Room in Carson High School, 1111 N. Saliman Road, in Carson City.

The Carson City Symphony Chorus is an expansion of the Carson Chamber Singers, now in its 34th year. The Chorus is open to all singers, high-school age and above.

Carson Nugget salutes active duty, veterans with free Al Stewart concert tickets

CARSON CITY — In honor of Veterans Day, the Carson Nugget is offering two free tickets for its Al Stewart concert on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 9 p.m. to active duty service members and veterans.
