Heading into the weekend, there's a bevy of events around the Carson City region that brings a cool breeze to the first three days of summer. The 16th Motor Officer Challenge kicks off Friday at 7 a.m. at Mills Park. Lace up the shoes for a Friday morning walk at East Silver Saddle Ranch hosted by Muscle Powered.

Heading into Tuesday, June 18, 2019 we're looking at continued warming around the region with a daytime high around 91. Temperatures are expected to actually lower toward the end of the week. Events around town Tuesday include a Muscle Powered walk, hike and bike ride, yoga, exercises for the mind and body hosted by the Carson City Emblem Club, political gatherings, art activities and more.

Heading into Father’s Day weekend, there's plenty of jam-packed activities around the Carson City region. There's Flag Day ceremonies at the Nevada Veterans Memorial and at the Elks Lodge. The Stewart Father’s Day Powwow happens Friday to Sunday and features hundreds of American Indian dancers, drummers artists and cultural enthusiasts. Lace up the tennis shoes for the Eastside Historical tour of the capital city hosted by Muscle Powered. Journey of Hope returns to Western Nevada College at 5 p.m. to settle into the evening. Open Mic Night at A to Zen will cap-off an eventful Friday heading into the weekend.

Heading into Wednesday, June 12, 2019 means we are half way through the work week. Temperatures will be around the 90 mark with a chance of afternoon showers. Activities lined up include art classes, a hike designed for tots through Carson City Parks and Recreation, a Ninja aerobic class at Yaple's Ballroom and you can hear local author CW Bayer talk about three of his books on area history at Browsers Corner Book Store. Heading into Memorial Day, May 27, 2019, we urge all to take time out of your day to honor those who served and died defending our country. Memorial Day is the day we celebrate those men and women who passed while serving in the United States Armed Forces. As we head into Tuesday, May 21, 2019 there seems to be some debate brewing about the weather. Is the persistent series of cold weather systems normal or not? We spoke with a forecaster from the National Weather Service about it and he noted that everyone has an opinion. Some folks swear this happens every Spring, storm after relentless storm through the entire month of May. Some swear the month of May in western Nevada is usually sunny, in the upper 70s to low 80s and comfortable. Whichever you believe, go with it and enjoy. Here's what's ahead Tuesday:
