With the Levitt AMP Carson City 2016 Award, the Brewery Arts Center was able to bring in such Nationally renowned groups as Mumbo Gumbo, Southern Drawl Band and SambaDa’, for FREE concerts for 10 straight Saturday nights and became the cornerstone of entertainment and family friendly activities all summer long.

“Just like with anything else, we feel everyone deserves access to healthy fruits and vegetables,” Marrone said.

We listened, shared, asked, answered, and focused on meeting our important objectives while helping each other in the process. The wonderful collaboration that our common objective brings...finding loving homes for all of our furry friends...made for worthwhile, and sometimes challenging, conversation.

This New Year will be a busy one for Carson City. Foremost on our minds, perhaps, is the Downtown Street Narrowing Project due to begin early February/March depending on weather conditions. One of the goals stated by Carson City staff is to have this project complete in time for the Nevada Day parade. We should, however, keep our chief consideration foremost: “Let's do it Right.”

Sponsored by Levitt Pavilions, the national nonprofit that is behind the largest free concert series in America, the Brewery Arts Center learned Tuesday it is one of the 15 grant winners who competed in 2015 for Levitt AMP summer concert series funding.

The top 25 cities with the most votes will be eligible for the grant but the higher up you are on the list, the better chance you have for the cash award. The award is a matching grant with a total budget of $50,000.
The concerts will be regional artists and national touring bands along with a festival style local artist event, all free of charge and will take place on the Brewery Arts Center campus.

Carson City area hunger drive: Can-Struction Challenge yields more than thousand pounds of food

Seven new solar arrays will save The Washoe Tribe $25,000 annually

In addition to the 113 kW of power BRS built for them in 2011, BRS is currently building seven new Carson City area arrays for the tribe.
Deadline for Rural Business Development Grant is May 15

Grant money can be used to acquire or develop land, buildings, plants and equipment; build or improve access roads, parking areas, utility extensions and water and waste disposal facilities; provide technical assistance, establish revolving loan funds and to support rural distance learning programs that provide educational or job training.
USDA program Invests $987 million in rural Nevada loans since 2009

SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans Available to Nevada Small Businesses

United Way partners with Carson City agencies to address crime prevention and substance abuse

The partnerships, announced Monday, are aimed to address the complex conditions that are putting youth at risk, said Karen Barsell, CEO and president of United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra.
