Assemblyman Jim Wheeler (R-Gardnerville), Minority Leader, is asking all responsible gun owners, their friends and neighbors who care about the Constitution and gun rights to show up at the Nevada Legislature this Tuesday, February 12 in Room 1214 at 7:30 a.m. to review a bill that will be presented at 8 a.m. in Room 1214.

Assemblyman Wheeler says that it is critical that concerned citizens "share their thoughts in public comment" on this important Second Amendment issue.

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Arts Council is unveiling a new traveling photo exhibition, “Home Means Nevada” that will start its journey in the hallways of the Nevada Legislature during the 2019 session.

JoAnne Skelly: Hemp is a viable crop for Nevada

Recently a reader asked me about growing hemp. According to Penn State Extension, hemp was often found in early settlements and used as a fiber source. It was widely grown in Pennsylvania and other states in the 1700s and 1800s. Not only grown for fiber, its oil was used “in paints, ink, varnishes, and lamp oil.” Conestoga wagon covers and clothing were made from hemp.

New bill proposes allowing additional mental health professionals to treat psychotic disorders
