We are a group of business owners that meet to come up with solutions to different issues like time management, learning about social media, and overcoming other obstacles in the community. This meeting we will be learning about time management by using google calendar and task.

Ahead Tuesday include a morning walk and evening hike with Muscle Powered, a "haunted" cemetery tour at Lone Mountain, a business networking meeting at Casino Fandango and the Fat Tuesday business networking group at Carson Nugget, archery at Centennial Park and more. Heading into Tuesday, August 27, 2019 we're looking at continued hot weather around the capital city, with daytime highs in the mid to upper 90s. Ahead is a job fair at the Carson Nugget, a Fat Tuesday business networking gathering, a morning walk, evening hike and a bike ride with Muscle Powered, free skin cancer testing offered by Carson Tahoe Health and Wellness Institute, a Relay for Life fundraiser at Firehouse Subs and more.

A Carson City business networking group, Fat Tuesday, will meet this Tuesday, August 27 at Alatte inside the Carson Nugget. All are welcome, attendance if free and there isn't a membership fee.

Following are all of the entries for the 2018 Nevada Day Parade, to take place on Saturday, Oct. 27 starting at 10 a.m. The parade starts at North Carson and William streets, and ends at South Carson and Stewart streets. There are 215 entries in this year's parade.

You can’t act without a plan and you won’t benefit from planning without taking action. But how do you strike that balance? How do you know it’s time to stop thinking and start doing?

Say what you want about Disney princesses, I find them to be inspiring in their own unique way. I want to share about "Moana." First, if you haven’t seen the film, Carson City Stadium Cinemas is down to one 4 p.m. showing this week.

We all have the same 24 hours in a day. However, it’s how we manage ourselves within time that makes the difference. Today is the kick-off of Motivation Monday at Adams Hub for Innovation in Carson City. I will be at Adams Hub every Monday from 10 am until 2 pm helping business owners, entrepreneurs, and leaders discover and benefit from their sources for motivation.

This month, I’ve been writing along a general theme. Have you noticed yet? You are not alone! This week, I am posting on a Tuesday because life was preparing me to write this column. I had a day of complete and total entrepreneurial stress.

Last week, I wrote about my strategic partnership with Adams Hub for Innovation. I suggested you don’t have to do business, life, or your career alone. I framed it as seeking help through mentors and coaches. Yet, there’s another angle I would like to show you – the strategic partnership.

One of the myths of the hard-working entrepreneur is they are alone. You hear about solopreneurs battling it out alone. You hear the challenges of being the only employee doing it all in a startup. You may even know or be an intrapreneur who is trying to get an idea pushed through alone. Here’s my big question for you this week. Why are you alone?

The recent flooding was devastating for some, inconvenient for others. What was the difference? Of course, flood zoning played a large role. But even those in flood areas were better off because of a single mindset, preparedness.
I was personally impressed by the local response.

This weekend, I attended the final Levitt AMP concert for the summer at the Brewery Arts Center. Boy, was it fun! But, it also sparked a few connections for me which will result in business meetings this week. This, to me, is networking.

Networking is essential in business, even more so if you are a business owner, entrepreneur, or are in charge of business development. Today, a networking group launched via the popular site MeetUp.com that will bring Carson City, Reno, Tahoe, and Carson Valley leaders together to meet, exchange ideas, network, provide referrals, and educate one another.
