Free fitness and outdoor adventures available for young people living with cancer, MS

First Descents is piloting in 2020 a monthly meetups program in northern Nevada. The program will provide 11 life-changing outdoor and outdoor-related adventures this year free of cost to local young adults impacted by cancer and other serious health conditions.

Carson City Soroptimist will present the Live Your Dream Award, five scholarships, and recognize four Girls of the Month during its January program meeting. Carson City's Bleu Cafe reopens restaurant, bar for lunch following public outcry

Carson City's Bleu Cafe closed their restaurant doors in November to focus on catering and parties, but after months of public outcry from Bleu Cafe enthusiasts, Chef Roberta Davies has opened the restaurant and bar for lunch, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The restaurant is popular for their menu that touts cooking "the old fashioned way," with every item made from scratch using real ingredients. When it closed, the public let Davies know just how upset they were.

Parent Representative Volunteers Needed for Family Life Committee

The Carson City School District is seeking one (1) more application from a parent to serve as a member on the district’s Family Life Committee. An initial request for four (4) applications was made a month ago in October, and the district was able to appoint three (3) new members of the committee; however, the school district is still needing to fill one more seat.
