A Remote Learning page has been created to provide parents and students with weekly materials for elementary students.

Nutrition Services with the Carson City School District have added two more drive-through pick-up locations for free lunch and breakfast, including the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada and the Ron Wood Family Resource Center.

By noon Wednesday, all "non-essential" businesses in Nevada were required to shut down by state decree in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19. The Carson City School District recognizes the situation regarding COVID-19 is very fluid, with conditions changing rapidly. Therefore, the following actions are being taken to best meet Governor Sisolak’s expectations in unprecedented circumstances.

YERINGTON, Nev. — The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is treating the threat of the COVID-19 virus as a serious issue. We still have a responsibility to the citizens of Lyon County to do our job. We will continue to respond to calls for service.

On March 15, 2020, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office was notified of a child pornography video posted to a social media account.

Deputies responded and contacted the reporting party. CCSO detectives were requested and launched an investigation. The subsequent investigation determined that a Snapchat user posted a sexually graphic video to his account and the video was made public for the suspect’s followers to view.

“We did our free clinic at the Community Center, and what a turnout we had; around 100 participants showed up, we had a ton of fun, and we even had high school varsity players help coach the clinic as well” said Carson High School Varsity Basketball coach Jordan Glover.

UPDATE MONDAY: The Washoe County Health District (WCHD) conducted COVID-19 testing Friday and all tests came back negative including all students at Huffaker Elementary School who were tested. The negative result includes the family member (a Huffaker student) of the resident who tested presumptive positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

This event has been cancelled due to coronavirus concerns.

We are a group of business owners that meet to come up with solutions to different issues like time management, learning about social media, and overcoming other obstacles in the community.
