Carson City law officers, Deputy Carl Howell, remembered at wreath laying ceremony
Submitted by Isaiah Burrows on Thu, 08/15/2019 - 2:55pmLocal law enforcement and participants gathered Thursday at the Carson City Sheriff's Office to honor fallen Carson City officers during a wreath laying ceremony.
Mayor Bob Crowell gave the opening statement and spoke on the loss of Deputy Carl Howell on August 15, 2015. He and Carson City Undersheriff Ken Sandage offered words and tribute to Howell and the four other law enforcement officers who lost their lives while in the line of duty in the city.
Carson City supervisors accept 90 percent design phase of South Carson roundabout
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Thu, 08/15/2019 - 1:15pmThe Carson City Board of Supervisors unanimously agreed Thursday to accept the 90 percent design phase of the South Carson Street roundabout project following a presentation led by the city's chief engineer and comments from the public.
On Wednesday evening, the project was presented to the Carson City Regional Transportation Commission by chief engineer Dan Stucky. To date there have been 18 public meetings on this project.

This procedure was discarded at a later Board meeting as the Mayor said: “I will ask Nancy if she wants the job”. There are numerous city employees and potential outside qualified candidates that were not given an opportunity to apply for this position.
What is even more bizarre, is that the Mayor did not ask Stacy Giomi if he wanted the job, as he had previously applied for this very position.

This event will be a barbecue and a speaking engagement. We will have good food and music. It is Saturday, July 20.

Released behind the Carson Tahoe Health Cancer Center at the trailhead of the one-mile long Serenity Trail on Thursday, 150 Mason bees couldn’t wait to be freed from their boxes by their foster mother, Debra Conrad, a member of the class who kept the bees until they could be released.
