Western Nevada College offers accelerated plan for pre-nursing students

To meet the rising employment demand for nurses, Western Nevada College now offers a plan to expedite students’ entry into the college’s Nursing program. Through an accelerated model, students can complete nursing prerequisites in just two semesters, in preparation for acceptance into the program.

Carson High HOSA brings home awards, scholarships from state competition

Carson City sheriff’s log: Hospital nutrition manager jailed for felony embezzlement

A 39-year-old food and nutrition manager at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center was arrested Wednesday on a felony charge of embezzlement after allegedly creating a fake account for a bakery where he would funnel invoices that were approved for payment by the hospital’s accounting department, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
