The Story of the Titanic

Mike Thomas presents his newest slide-show lecture, which covers the story of this magnificent ship, from it's construction to it's tragic first voyage. More than that, the presentation speaks of the courage of the people involved in this famous event. Learn about the reasons for the sinking, and see many images of the Titanic in it's deep ocean grave.

The Story of Troy

The story of the Trojan War is one of history's greatest tales. Mike Thomas leads you through "Homer's lliad," an exciting blend of mighty gods and mythical warriors. The slide-show lecture includes many wonderful images blended with well researched narrative. It also speaks to the ongoing question of fact or fiction.

Sixth Annual Science Expo at Lake Tahoe coming in March

The UC Davis’s Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC) in partnership with the Tahoe Expedition Academy (TEA) will host the sixth annual Science Expo on March 16.

The fair features interactive experiments and demonstrations for children from the third to sixth grade, ages 8 to 12 and their families. The event is free and will run from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences in Incline Village. Ice cream will be provided by Susie Scoops of Incline Village and UC Davis TERC.
