The Carson Nugget is pleased to announce that we are hosting a job fair on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
We have more than a dozen positions in full time, part time capacities. All levels of experience are invited to attend the event which takes place in the Sierra Room on the main floor of the casino on N. Carson Street. We are hiring for the following positions:

CGI, Inc. is holding a job fair today and Saturday (Aug. 19) from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 3675 Arrowhead Dr., Carson City.

Are you itching for the weekend? It will be musically magical with a plethora of Jazz and Beyond Music Festival events throughout town. It’s a classic car lover’s dream come true, as well, with Hot August Nights in Reno and Sparks. But don’t get ahead of yourself, today has some great options for a good time. Enjoy some air conditioned entertainment with the Carolyn Dolan Band at the Carson Mall. ‘Elvis, Marilyn and the Space Aliens’ and their place in the movies is the topic of this month’s Douglas County Historical Society’s lecture.

The Carson City Fair gathers steam today: they’ll be setting up the carnival, judging the items in the exhibit hall, and the 4-H kids are showing off what their dogs can do. It’s a play-doh afternoon at the Carson City Library, in addition to their weekly Pajama Story time on Tuesday evenings. The Carson Nugget is hosting a job fair to fill a plethora of positions in their restaurants and on the casino floor.

Dozens of businesses and organizations gathered at Carson High School's Senator Square late last month as part of a summer job fair for students.

It is that time of year again, time for the Carson High School Class of 2017 to graduate and move on toward other exciting endeavors. Many graduates will continue their education by heading up to the next level, going off to college, while some will attend a trade school, and yet others will simply begin employment in a field of their choice.

You’re almost there. The long weekend is just around the corner, and everywhere I go I hear of camping trips and bbq plans. As the weather heats up, Muscle Powered compensates by moving their easy hike to the cooler hours of the morning. Chef Mitchell Tufts has found a new home at the new Cadillac Café at the Silver Oak Golf Course: the Grand Opening is at noon. Author and journalist, David Toll, tells the tale of the defunct newspaper, The Gold Hill News, at this month’s lecture at the Nevada State Museum.

After being inundated with calls from businesses looking for potential employees, the main office at Carson High School will host a mini job fair this Friday.

The Carson Nugget will host a job fair on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 2 pm to 6 pm in the Sierra Room on the main floor. We have full time, part time and seasonal positions for all levels of experience casino-wide. Here's the positions we are looking to fill:

Sunny days, sweeping the clouds away. On my way to where the air is sweet. I can tell you where to find some fun, down on Carson Street. Mile High Jazz Band at Comma Coffee is the hot ticket tonight. Such a beautiful day in store, they’ll probably be in the courtyard. Our rivers and reservoirs are filled to the brim: if you ever wanted to learn more about fly-fishing, this is probably a good time for it. The Carson City Fly Fishing Club meets monthly at the Carson City Airport and is a perfect choice for those who already love or are curious about the sport.

And the pendulum of crazy weather returns to something spring-like. Granted, the lawns and gardens in Carson City are loving this wet stuff, I just want the sunshine to stay put. The brewery at the corner of Proctor and N. Carson Street will soon be opening as ‘The Union’ and is seeking staff for what promises to be an exciting downtown venture for chef, Mark Estee. A job fair today and Tuesday will have hiring managers on hand to fill the front and back of the house. Wildfire Awareness Month is honored at the State Legislature today.

Holy moly, it’s going to be a busy weekend: busy and gorgeous out. A bowling tournament and the Comstock Shootout Soccer tournament have the hotels and motels busting at the seams. Celebrate Earth Day with Muscle Powered by making a small piece of Carson City that much cleaner; the trash meets at 8 a.m. and leaves you plenty of time to enjoy the day. Rummage and book sales, live music, a fun run and a half-marathon, comedy and so much more await you. Check out the list for all the ways to embrace the sunshine.

Smack dab in the middle of April and the town is officially in its Spring thaw. Easter is on Sunday, so just about anywhere you go you’ll find the Bunny and an egg hunt. To make it easy, I’ve moved all of those events to their own everything Easter list HERE.

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. – Join Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park staff on Saturday, April 15 and Saturday, April 22 to learn more about exciting employment opportunities at Sand Harbor, Spooner Lake, Cave Rock, and Van Sickle. Sand Harbor Bar and Grill, Sand Harbor Rentals, and The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival will also be available to answer questions and recruit for seasonal positions.

About 65 vendors greeted job seekers Friday afternoon at the Carson City Community Center gymnasium during the first of two annual job fairs hosted and organized by Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS).

Only this year, Western Nevada College collaborated with CCHHS to put on the job fair that is known to attract hundreds of job seekers.

A second job fair typically takes place in the fall at the same location.

Irish eyes are smiling on us: it’s going to be a gorgeous day. You won’t have to look far for some green beer, whiskey, or corned beef – there will be St. Patrick’s Day parties all over. Live music is on the menu, as well. Choose from Men of Worth at the Brewery Arts Center, an all ages punk show at Sassafras, or Stereo Galaxy in the McFadden Plaza, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The brave ones will be at the St. Baldrick Fundraiser at Red’s Old 395 where you’ll see some heads shaved for a good cause. Where ever you end up, just make sure you have a plan to get home safely.

With spring and summer around the corner, job opportunities have begun to sprout up around Carson City and Northern Nevada. Job seekers and students are encouraged to take advantage of a spring job fair planned for Friday, March 17 at the Carson City Community Center.

Today we say farewell to February. I’m chomping at the bit for spring and Mardi Gras means it’s just around the corner. The Sierra Nevada Forums return to the Brewery Arts Center with a presentation on civility in a time of political differences. The Carson City Photography Club is welcoming new members: every month you’ll find a different assignment. Those in the nursing field will want to attend the RN Job Fair at Carson Tahoe Hospital for new opportunities.

We are looking to meet candidates face to face to show you what Carson Tahoe has to offer, with immediate nursing positions available. I hope everyone enjoyed the few hours of sunshine Wednesday, because we’re in for it now. Hopefully, the snow won’t cause as much flooding. Local McDonald’s restaurants hope to see you this evening: a fundraiser for the family of Ashley Bursey runs from 4 p.m.

Nevada’s Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation’s Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation in conjunction with Truckee Meadows Community College Workforce Development and Community Education Department is hosting a unique program designed to assist people with disabilities improve their soft skills to qualify for employment.

Sometimes you just want to make some noise. The brand-new Harmony Sculpture Park at the Brewery Arts Center is the perfect place to make some music: the ribbon cutting is at 1 p.m. The new FoodMax will open in early December and jobs are still available: the job fair at Job Connect will put you in the running. Let Firehouse Subs take care of dinner tonight, and do something for our local Relay for Life in the process. We are in for some wet weather over the next few days, so please slow down and watch for slick roads.

Wondering what to do with yourself? Take advantage of the mild weather with Muscle Powered’s easy hike along Sedge Road on the east end of town. The Salvation Army Bell Ringers will be hitting the streets soon; head over to their job fair today if you’d like to be one of them. Karaoke makes an appearance at Living the Good Life and at Jimmy G’s Cigar Bar for those who need to sing. The Marine Corps League Silver State Detachment 630 is celebrating 241 years of the United States Marine Corp with a party at Westside Pour House. Keep reading for all of today’s happenings.

The Salvation Army will be hiring seasonal works to help with holiday programs such as Thanksgiving food drives, Christmas food drives and its Angel Tree Christmas Toy distribution. The organization will host a job fair Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon at the Salvation Army Serving Carson City and Douglas County, 661 Colorado St.

More than 600 middle and high school students stepped off their buses, picked up their new bright green backpacks and spent the morning experiencing the construction trades with hands-on demonstrations, exhibits and meeting with area colleges and apprenticeship programs at the first ever Northern Nevada Construction Career Day held at the Livestock Event Center in Reno on Tuesday.
