Art doll maker Christine Shively-Benjamin of Carson City will be among more than 30 artists from Northern Nevada featured at the 24th annual Artisan Show and Sale Friday and Saturday, Nov. 2-3, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Reno. Tahoe South extends summer with festivals, live music and lakefront laser show

According to the calendar, summer is coming to a close but South Lake Tahoe is refusing to acknowledge it. Tahoe South will host a magnitude of events extending the season from Labor Day into October with entertainment, culinary festivals, music, outdoor recreation, competitions and a lakefront laser show.

Jewelry Scam in Carson City

At Northern Nevada Coin we have seen a number of people bringing in gold jewelry that they have just purchased from a person on the street. The problem is that the jewelry is fake. In several instances the victim purchased the items from a mother with two children. Most of the pieces we have seen is marked 18K but contains no gold. The scam is someone approaching you with a story of needing money and wanting to sell their jewelry. Be aware that this type of activity may be a scam with fake jewelry.
