Congressional candidate to speak at Monday's Democratic luncheon

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Elizabeth Mercedes Krause, Democratic candidate for Nevada District 2 of the US House of Representatives. In the June 14 Democratic primary, Mercedes came in first with 47% of the vote out of a field of seven candidate. In the November 8 four-way general election, she will face off against Republican incumbent Mark Amodei as well as Independent American Russell Best and Libertarian Darryl Baber. Early voting begins on Saturday, October 22nd.

He is one of seven candidates on the Democratic side. His rivals include Joseph Afzalk, Michael Doucette, Gerold Lee Gorman, Brian Hansen, Rahu Joshi and Elizabeth Mercedes Krause. Hanifan is the only candidate in that field who hails from the Carson City area.
