The proposed development plan for the new subdivision was approved at the December planning commission meeting, during which the commission recommended approval of the project map with a 4-2 vote, with one vote absent.

They include several major health care initiatives — including a ban on surprise emergency room bills, a tax on vaping products and a requirement that hospitals use patients’ preferred names and pronouns — as well as laws that will benefit employees, including paid sick leave.
UNR Extension offers no cost radon test kits, presentations to reduce lung cancer risks

Radon test kits are available at Extension offices and partnering locations, as well as at free presentations, statewide.

All proceeds benefit Austin's House, our local non-profit children's shelter. The shelter cares for children ages infant to 18 who have been removed from their homes due to neglect or abuse.
This year's gala event features a fabulous dinner, silent and live auctions, and dancing to the music of DJ Steven ROCKS. Tickets are available for $65 or $125.

Proposed 'Andersen Ranch Estates' Developer Meet and Greet returns full house Friday

The developer, Christy Corporation LTD., hosted the meeting to discuss their lot plans. They also opened the floor to current residents of the neighborhood to voice their questions and concerns.
Pair arrested at Carson City drive-thru suspected of vehicle burglaries, using stolen credit cards

Over the past few weeks, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office has investigated numerous vehicle burglaries throughout the West and North sides of Carson City. Vehicle windows had been broken out and property was stolen. Surveillance videos from homes and businesses showed a male suspect.
