Carson City Humane Society: More than 50 adoptions since COVID-19 shut down

CASI continues to assist the community through our Critter Fixer low-cost spay/neuter voucher program for low-income applicants.

No need to worry about lunch we offer hot dogs at our snack bar and sometimes the wonderful volunteers will bring a yummy homemade soup.

A portion of your check will be donated to their spay and neuter fund for the homeless animals that come into our care. A perfect day to dine with your dog!

You can adopt an adult cat for free — choose from young cats, old cats, skinny cats, fat cats, cute cats or ugly cats! There are spotted cats, striped cats, white cats and black cats. They all need to find a home — YOUR home! Standard adoption policies apply.

Carson City businesses pour out oil, vinegar and love to homeless
Submitted by Brett Fisher on Sun, 01/31/2016 - 10:23amOn the surface, olive oil and balsamic vinegar have little to do with homelessness. But here in Carson City, they have become a big deal.
Last month, noted area Chef Don Pepe, owner of Carpa Nevada LLC, sold more than $1,000 worth of his fine imported Portuguese olive oil and balsamic vinegars through Downtown Coin in Carson City.
The entire proceeds, totaling $400 in profit, were then donated to “Pets of the Homeless,” a Carson City-based non-profit organization that helps provide food and veterinary care for homeless companions nationwide.

The holiday season is a time to show our animal companions how much they mean to us, and our annual Lights of Love is a touching way to do just that.
