Carson City student to refresh 'C' on C-Hill as part of Eagle Scout, senior projects

Also featured is the launch of the Jukebox International Film Festival at the community center, a jazz quintet performance at Comma Courtyard and the 115th birthday celebration of Count Basie as part of the Jazz and Beyond music festival. The hike is a four-mile loop and offers breathtaking views of Sand Harbor. The hike is moderately difficult, and you’ll need to bring water, lunch, sunscreen and sturdy hiking boots.

The day we arrived, they had a wild fire that started at 200 acres and by the next day it was over 10,000. Grants pass was smokey and hard to breath, so Renee, my cousin Steve and I ventured to Brookings OR to do some salmon fishing.

Among events for the day, there will be a wreath remembrance ceremony for fallen Carson City law enforcement officers at the sheriff's office, a Muscle Powered morning hike, art showings, and a meeting of the Status of Women in Nevada group at the Carson Nugget. As part of the Jazz and Beyond music festival, there will be an outdoor "Woodstock Remembered" concert at Comma Coffee and a music presentation, "All About that Bass" by Scot Marshall and Friends at the Nevada State Museum.
