Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 12/20/2019 - 3:57pmLast Saturday I was part of the Rotary Club's Shopping Spree. This annual event pairs a Rotarian with a needy child in hopes of purchasing gifts for the child and members of his/her family.
The young man that I accompanied was a rather precocious and talkative eight-year old who was a bit jaded when it came to acknowledging the magic of Christmas. However, during the shopping part of the activity, my new young friend became very animated and hopeful as he talked about selecting gifts for his family and for himself.

The airport advises passengers to arrive early and allow time for parking, airline check-in and long TSA security lines.

Bently Nevada employees adopt 11 Carson City, Douglas County families for Christmas

Happenings around town include organized morning and evening fitness walks, a "Stuff the Bus Toy Drive" at Capital Ford, a Planning Commission meeting on the proposed Andersen Ranch development and a Posada event at Mark Twain Elementary. Rainbow Girls keep over 30 years of tradition alive with Carson Mall Gift Wrapping fundraiser

You can bring your gifts to the Mall and the Rainbow Girls will wrap them with love and care. This is the Rainbow Girls' yearly fundraiser and an appropriate donation for the size and amount of gifts is requested.

Annual Angel Tree begins at the Dayton Urgent Care

Nevada consumers spend nearly $639M during Thanksgiving weekend and 'Cyber Monday'

In the Silver State, the Retail Association of Nevada estimates that more than 1.7 million people spent a total of $638.9 million on gifts, decorations and other merchandise over the five-day period.
