Yes, for some, history elicits a yawn, but once you get into it, the history of a community can be fascinating and will get you off your couch and perhaps onto your bicycle, for much of our history can be found within the downtown core where bike riding is easy. Don’t own a bike, well, you can walk to many of the sites.
Senator Square: The weather, clothing and colors are changing at Carson High School

CHS Dean Sharon Hallinan sent an email out to all CHS teachers about this weather changing challenge. Hallinan told teachers to “please remind students of the Dress Code; highlight the fact that bare midriffs and holey jeans, which violate the ‘Fingertip Rule’, are not allowed.”

Celebrate Summer at the 2019 Capital City Brewfest

Nearly two dozen breweries and several food trucks will line the newly redesigned Curry Street. Plus, there will be live music in McFadden Plaza. You won’t want to miss hearing The Belle Sounds, an indie pop-rock band from Austin Texas. The five-member band is sure to entertain you with its three part harmonies, soaring melodies and lush sonic sounds.

We want to send a big birthday "shoutout" to our outdoor editor emeritus Don Quilici, who turns 85 today. Even more amazing than the dances are the students behind the scenes who, with the guidance of Leadership Adviser Ann Britt and FBLA Adviser Angila Golik, transformed the CHS Big Gym so that all visitors, young and old alike, would think they had walked into a beautiful dream.

Sponsored by Carson Tahoe Health (CTH) and hosted by the Carson City School District, the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), Safe Routes to School, local bike clubs and shops, the inaugural event served as a proving ground to acquaint experienced and less experienced bike riders with their eco-friendly transport mechanisms.
