Food For Thought offers summer lunch program

Food for Thought announces the sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program at Terrace Park in Carson City. Terrace Park is adjacent to Empire Elementary School. Lunch will be served to all children aged 2 to 18 who come to the park free of charge. Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, gender or disability, and there be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.

Free Annual Pancake Breakfast to benefit Food for Thought

Parkway Manor Apartments is having their Free Annual Pancake Breakfast, prepared by Carson City Kiwanis Club, this Saturday from 8 - 11 a.m.

They are collecting canned food, dry goods and monetary donations to benefit the hungry kids in our community.

Food for Thought Ladies Night Out Fundraiser

One Too Many - Childhood Hunger in Northern Nevada

Everyday innocent children in Northern Nevada go to bed hungry. Food For Thought provides food for hungry school children over the weekends and during the summer months. Many of these children live right here in Carson City, our friends and neighbors.

Carson City Democratic Women's Club Meeting

The Carson City Democratic Women's Club invites all interested residents to attend our annual Holiday Party on December 10th, 2012 starting at 11:30 AM. Carson City Symphony presents "Railroad Tracks"

The beautiful back lawn of the Governor's Mansion is the site of the Carson City Symphony's twenty-seventh annual "Pops Party" concert on Sunday, June 12, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. The program, "Railroad Tracks," features the Carson City Symphony, Carson Chamber Singers, Strings in the Schools youth orchestra, and guest singer Olivia Hakel. Tickets are now on sale for Food for Thought's spring fundraiser, Saddle up For Kids, on May 20 from 4-8 p.m. There will be terrific BBQ from Carson City BBQ, great entertainment from the cast of Oklahoma, and auction items ranging from the use of a Hawaiian vacation home to books from local authors.

Join Anytime Fitness in Carson City This Month and Help Feed Hungry Children Right Here in Our Own Community

CARSON CITY, NV – January 7, 2011 – Over twelve million children go hungry in America every day, thousands right here in the State of Nevada. In an effort to contribute to feeding the hungry children in our community, Anytime Fitness of Carson City will donate $10 for each new membership this month to Food for Thought, a local non-profit organization that provides weekend meals to over 800 children in our community. Many of our children only receive the food they need during the school week.

Carson City Democratic Women's Club Meeting

The Carson City Democratic Women's Club annual Christmas party will raise funds to benefit the Children's Museum and Food for Thought on Saturday December 11th at Grandma Hatties Restaurant, starting at 11:30 AM and is open to all. Instead of bringing gifts to exchange the attendees are asked to donate the equivalent in cash or checks to one or both organizations. (A single donation will be split between the two organizations). Ladies Night Out Holiday Shopping

Food for Thought presents Ladies Night Out on Tuesday, Nov. 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Plaza Conference Center, 211 East 9th Street, next to Reds Old 395.

This fundraiser is a way for the ladies to treat themselves to a holiday shopping gift buying experience. Enjoy food and wine and while we take care of your children.

The cost is $10 and that includes childcare, appetizers and wine. Bring along a few girlfriends and enjoy this fun extent to support a great cause.

Rummage Sale for Food for Thought

Support Food for Thought and homeless kids in the Carson City, Douglas, Lyon and Storey County school districts. Food for Thought provides meals to local homeless children on weekends when there are no school meals available to them. Gently used items are requested for donation for the rummage sale.

Carson City Food For Thought Fundraiser at Governor's Mansion

Food for Thought, a program that helps feed homeless children in the Carson City region, will hold a fundraiser, Coconuts for Kids, on May 22 at the Governor's Mansion from 4 to 7 p.m.
The Hawaiian-themed fundraiser will have hula dancers, authentic island food and an auction. All are welcome to the event.
