‘The Mustang’ filmed at Carson City’s historic prison arrives in theaters March 15

Big-Band Jazz X3: Mile High, CHS and CMS concert coming to Carson City Community Center

International film festival hosted in renovated Carson City theater

Carson City Arts Initiative awarded $10,000 grant, part of $90,000 statewide total

Despite snow on the ground, a Chinese New Year celebration will take place in downtown Carson City between the Nevada State Museum and the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada.
The ninth annual Carson High School Safe Grad Safe and Sober Run/Walk occurs at the CHS track.
And the 20th annual Feast of Chocolate, a scholarship fundraiser for the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Capital Branch, is being held at the Plaza Hotel Event Center.

Tahoe Adventure Film Festival Feb. 23 in Minden

The festival will screen at the CVIC at 1604 Esmeralda Avenue in Minden with doors opening at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. showing. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, and are available at the door. Refreshments will be available for purchase and a raffle will be held.
The Tahoe Adventure Film Festival is a fast-paced, high-energy evening of highlights from the best adventure sports films of the year.
Kermet Apio to perform at the Carson Comedy Club inside the Carson Nugget

Kermet Apio was the winner of the 2009 Great American Comedy Festival and has had numerous appearances on television and radio. He has showcased at comedy festivals in Aspen, Las Vegas, and Vancouver and has performed in 47 states and three Canadian provinces. He is a past winner of the Seattle Comedy Competition and was a semi-finalist in the San Francisco Comedy Competition.
