Domestic abuse calls keep Carson City officers busy over weekend

Carson City law officers were busy over the weekend dealing with a spat of domestic violence cases. Most involved drinking, with at least one of the cases resulting in a woman being taken to the hospital after she was punched and kicked in the head and face.

A 21-year-old unemployed Carson City man was arrested on domestic battery charges after he allegedly grabbed his girlfriend from behind and held a tight hold on her until she collapsed. The incident happened at North Roop and Northridge streets at about 3 p.m. on Sunday.
