The Carson City School District is pleased to announce six high school seniors (four from Carson High School and two from Pioneer High School) who have shown exceptional academic prowess. The valedictorian and salutatorian honors represent the students who have earned the highest and second highest ranks, respectively, among their graduating class.

Beginning Wednesday, the Carson City Green Dining District will feature a special program to help customers support local businesses while reducing their environmental footprint.

This is a year unprecedented for Carson City students. High school seniors, and our local high schools are getting creative with the ways they seek to honor their graduating students.

MASON VALLEY — The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection says work to revitalize and restore the former Anaconda Copper Mine site continues to progress on schedule. The first phase of the project began in August 2019, and all necessary construction work at the site is on track to be complete by 2029.

CARSON CITY, Nev. — UPS announced the donation of 10,000 N95 respirator masks to the Nevada Department of Public Safety. On March 15, 2020, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office was notified of a child pornography video posted to a social media account.

Deputies responded and contacted the reporting party. CCSO detectives were requested and launched an investigation. The subsequent investigation determined that a Snapchat user posted a sexually graphic video to his account and the video was made public for the suspect’s followers to view.
