Carson Tahoe kicks off Think Pink breast cancer awareness campaign Monday

Red’s Old 395 Grill will once again host the event from 5 to 7 p.m. in Carson City. The event is free to attend and individuals wearing a Carson Tahoe Think Pink T-shirt (any year) will receive free appetizers courtesy of Red’s.

More than 300 people attended the free kick off event to empower women to take control of their health and get their regular mammograms. Individuals who purchased a "Think Pink" pink t-shirt enjoyed free appetizers courtesy of Red's Old 395 Grill and 100 percent of proceeds from bar sales, raffle ticket sales and t-shirt sales went to the Carson Tahoe Cancer Resource Center for breast cancer education and support.
Miss USA Nia Sanchez celebrates Nevada homecoming with Carson City visit
Submitted by editor on Wed, 07/16/2014 - 4:56pmRecently crowned Miss USA 2014 Nia Sanchez spent Wednesday in Carson City, the first celebration trip since becoming the first Miss USA from Nevada. She was crowned June 8.
Sanchez was officially greeted into the city by Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell, Carson City Visitors Bureau Director Joel Dunn, Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada members and the Carson High School Senators cheerleading team.
Miss USA Nia Sanchez to celebrate official Nevada homecoming
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Tue, 07/15/2014 - 9:36amNewly crowned Miss USA 2014, Nia Sanchez, will return to her home state of Nevada for her official homecoming trip Wednesday, July 16 through Sunday, July 20. This will be Sanchez’s first celebration trip since becoming the first Miss USA from Nevada since she was crowned on Sunday, June 8.
Miss USA’s homecoming will kick off with a visit to the state’s capital, Carson City. Sanchez will have the opportunity to meet several government officials while visiting the historic Nevada State Capitol.
