NDOT hiring temporary winter highway maintenance workers

CARSON CITY — Even in the height of summer, the Nevada Department of Transportation is looking ahead and preparing to keep state roads clear when winter snow flies. NDOT is hiring temporary highway maintenance workers to help keep winter roads clear, including snow plow and anti-icing operations and assisting in highway emergency response, among other duties.

NDOT to enhance no parking on U.S. 50 near Cave Rock at Tahoe

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Department of Transportation is enhancing roadside parking restrictions on U.S. 50 south of Cave Rock. Beginning Wednesday through July 29, NDOT will install nearly 10 new “no parking” signs making un-permitted parking illegal on U.S. 50 roadside shoulders and median between Cave Rock and just south of Cave Rock State Park.

Northern Nevada Development Authority on Friday announced its economic development service area has been expanded to include Mineral County. The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development \has designated NNDA as the regional development authority (RDA) for the county, effective July 1, 2019.
