Reno Kennel Club All-Breed Dog Show

The Reno Kennel Club, Inc., was first incorporated in 1938 and the annual Reno Kennel Club All-Breed Dog Show has become a staple in the community, attracting exhibitors from 24 states to exhibit 125 different breeds in 2022.

Carson City Pooch brings home gold from famous Westminster Dog Show

Carson City's own Ryker the Spinone Italiano won his Breed at the Westminster Dog Show earlier this week. There were a total of 13 Spinoni entered to compete this year and Ryker brought home the gold with best in his breed.

This isn't Ryker's first big win at Westminster though, as he is a return champion.

Fuji Park implodes with cuteness during Day One of the Dog Show

A majority of cuteness normally distributed fairly equally throughout the capital city was instead grouped in the location of Fuji Park during Day one of the Dog Show.

The Dog Show will continue tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Carson City Fair is returning for its third year this month, and it’s bringing big changes and several new events to its roster including a demolition derby, American Ninja Farmer contests, jello eating contests, animal auctions, and more.

Spinone Italiano of Carson City makes it to Westminster Dog Show final, bichon frise Flynn wins top honors

A Spinone Italiano, Adele, owned by Carson City Deputy Director of Emergency Management Stacey Belt, made the cut to the final sporting dogs at the 142nd Westminster Dog Show in New York City on Tuesday. Ultimately, a bichon frise named Flynn was picked “best in show.”

The Carson City Fair gathers steam today: they’ll be setting up the carnival, judging the items in the exhibit hall, and the 4-H kids are showing off what their dogs can do. It’s a play-doh afternoon at the Carson City Library, in addition to their weekly Pajama Story time on Tuesday evenings. The Carson Nugget is hosting a job fair to fill a plethora of positions in their restaurants and on the casino floor.

Organizers of the Carson City Fair are seeking volunteers to help with a variety of duties.
“We have lots of positions available,” said Lindsay Chichester, chairwoman of the Carson City Fair Board. “We have everything from helping with the youth livestock show to assisting the judging of the static exhibits.”

Trap set by SPCA successful in recovery of missing cattle dog

After having gone missing for a month in the Carson City area, Kizzy the cattle dog was found late last night in a trap set to catch her, said Carson-Tahoe SPCA President Susan Paul, who set the trap in a lot of sage brush on Roland Street in South Carson City.

Kizzy the elusive cattle dog is back with its owner today. Here's a message from the owner: "Thank you to Carson City people and community for getting the info out on Kizzy the Cattle dog. I could not be more proud of a community. Bless you all. Kizzy has been reunited after 1 month to the day with her momma. Thank you."

The weather cools down just as the fun heats up. Fundraisers, contests, food, football, outhouse races and more. Carson Valley Community Theater has one last performance of ‘The Savannah Sippin Society.’ Pooches in costume are welcome at Genoa’s last Sweet Sippin Sunday: there will be a pet parade at 3 p.m. And for all those brides out there's there's a fall wedding faire at Silver Oak Golf Club.
